About Online Library Orientation

The Online Library Orientation is a great way to explore Jacobs Library's services and resources! Our orientation was built in BrightSpace and blends videos and knowledge checks into a 20-30 minute learning experience.

Enroll in Online Library Orientation

Instructions & FAQs

  1. Visit www.ivcc.edu/brightspace and log into your account using your IVCC username and password.
  2. Click on "Discover" from the purple menu bar at the top of the screen.
  3. Under New, select "Library Orientation" If Library Orientation is not under the New section, type in it into the search bar. 
  4. Then, click on "Enroll in Course" and "Ok" verifying that access to the orientation is not delayed.
  5. Finally, click on "Open Course" to start the orientation.

  1. Click on "Discover" from the purple menu bar at the top of the screen.
  2. Next to the search bar, click on "Browse All Content."
  3. On this page, there is a Sort by drop-down menu to the right of the search bar.
  4. Click "Already Enrolled" from the drop-down menu.
  5. Finally, click on the orientation to get back in to work on it.

  1. Log into Brightspace: www.ivcc.edu/brightspace
  2. Click on your name in the top right corner.
  3. Select Profile from the drop-down menu.
  4. Under Awards Showcase, click on "View My Awards" If need proof for a class students can do the following:
    1. Click on the award and scroll to locate "Generate Certificate" to download a pdf version of your certificate.
    2. Click on Share and create a link that can be sent to instructor for them to view.
